Neil MacKinnon: RHP/SS, (2025) DUXBURY, MA. 170-pound projectable athletic build. Projectable and athletic at the plate, Mackinnon recorded an exit velocity of 91 mph. (63.6 mph bat speed average). (20.6 mph hand speed average). Setup is comprised of a controlled load and a wide closed stance. Bat speed was quick, displayed a loose flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found lots of barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Projectable and athletic in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 80 mph; shows in control athletic feet, soft developing hands, and a natural exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.87. Projectable on the mound, showed developing arm speed with a quick short arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed consistent balance point and in line shoulders. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 82-83 mph; shows running sinking action and command arm side around the zone. (Max spin 2181; Avg 2071). His curveball (68-69) showed slurvey action and glove side around the zone control. (Max spin 1538; Avg 1516). His changeup (67-68) had arm side control and gradual fading action.
