Roche is a 5-foot-8, 135 pound prospect. The right-handed hitting middle infielder had an exit velocity of 75 mph off the tee. He sits out of an athletic, square set-up, with the hands relaxed off the back shoulder. He transfers the weight to the back leg with a controlled knee slide. The hands push back into a good launch position. The bat-head works through the hitting zone on a flat, direct path to and through the hitting zone.
Defensively, Roche was 70 mph on his throws across the diamond. The middle infielder has light feet as he moves to get into a balanced fielding position. He breaks down behind the ground ball, with the glove positioned out in front. The hands are soft as he transitions through the ground ball and into the throwing position. The feet created a direct line with the target and the hips and shoulders follow. He finishes through the play, continuing along the same direct line with the target and showing a clean arm-swing.
