Eathen Vecchione: C/RHP, (2027) Falmouth High, MA. 6-foot, 170-pound lean athletic build. Projectable and athletic during batting practice, Vecchione clocked an exit velocity of 84 mph. (69.9 mph bat speed average). (21.6 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed was quick developing, had a loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Through the round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap aggressive approach. Behind the plate, his best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 74 mph; has developing athletic feet, developing soft hands, and a natural transfer. Clean setup. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. Projectable on the mound, showing developing quick arm speed he used a consistent loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher. Displays in line shoulders with a consistent balance point. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 77-78 mph; has arm side command and running sinking action. (Max spin 2119; Avg 1931). Had sweeping action and glove side around the zone control on his curveball (69-70). (Max spin 1964; Avg 1912). His changeup (73-74) has gradual fading action and arm side control.
