Maryland Preseason All-State Session I

Body: 6’0’’, 175 pounds. Strong, athletic, projectable frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, narrow, slightly crouched stance at the plate. Smooth back load with a shorter stride and some hand separation. Hands are quick through contact, creating fast bat speed and really nice extension through and past contact. Hands stay inside the ball well with an uphill swing path and solid lower half involvement. Ball comes off the ball well with a strong middle of the field gap-to-gap approach.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Present pop to the pull side with more projected as the body continues to fill out.
Arm: LH. OF - 76 mph. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball well with quick, active feet. Fluid actions, fielding the ball to the outside of the foot with clean exchanges. Create solid momentum towards the target with accurate throws that showed some carry.
Run: 7.37 60-yard time.

Delivery: Short side rocker with above-average pace to the delivery; started slightly off the left side of the rubber, medium leg lift that held direction well (slight pause) before following his front side shoulder down to finish the pitch out in front with good success.
Arm Action: LH. High ¾ slot with a quick, moderate arm circle.
FB: T80 mph, 78-80 mph. Average spin rate of 2014 rpm. Sneaky velo at times while hiding the ball well til the last second. The FB played in and out with occasional jump out of the hand (20.4 inches of average IVB).
CB: 65-67 mph. Average spin rate of 2220 rpm. Up to 20.4 inches of HM across the plate; big time bite with 1/7 shape.
CH: 70-72 mph. Killed spin while effectively holding the zone at a 40% clip. Solid third offering that can continue refinement.

Narrow stance while hitting, loads into a slight crouch before striding forward, and lands on line at foot strike. Level path to the swing, showed some pull side tendency at times, and had a high two hand finish. Lower half finishes completely. Exit velocity was 76 mph. Fluid approach, under control, and glove presents out front. Centered exchange, average arm circle, and throws from a higher three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity was 76 mph. Ran a 7.44 60. On the mound starts the delivery with a small rocker step, lower leg lift, and engages lower half early. Hips elevated, shoulders closed and elevated, and lands slightly closed at foot strike. Short quick arm, high three-quarter arm slot, and finishes towards the plate. Fastball sat 72-74 mph. Curveball was 57-58 mph. Changeup was a really nice secondary pitch with solid arm speed and some late fade sitting at 65-69 mph.
