5-foot-9, 145 pounds with a slim, athletic frame. Two way prospect.  Ran a 7.00 60 yard dash.  In the outfield, he features fluid footwork, and some softness in hands.  Showed plus accuracy with throws while topping out at 78 mph.  At the plate, the right hand hitter uses a balanced base with short stride.  Uses a short compact swing and offers linedrive type production to all fields.  Projects a high contact rate as he uses a simplistic swing.  Reached a top exit velocity of 75 mph off the tee.  On the mound, he throws through a high 3/4 slot with short arm action.  Needs to work on control consistency with his 75-76 mph fastball.  His 65-67 mph breaking ball shows early 11/5 tilt.  Also mixes in a 70 mph changeup thrown with fastball arm speed.

Young has some potential.  Standing in at only 5-foot-7 and 135-pounds, he has plenty of room and time to grow. He throws left-handed and hits right-handed. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Shows natural instincts with good fundamentals.  Arm strength is sure to improve and currently sits at 75 mph.  At the plate, he starts in an open stance and gets back to even. Hands are forward in his stance with larger-than-normal hand load.  Bat path is level and will produce line drives.

Young shows a smooth delivery on the mound.  Fastball ranged between 71-73mph as a sophomore.  Slider spin to breaking ball. Works from 3/4 slot.
