Committed to University of Oregon.

6/20/16- 6-foot-7, 235-pound left-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.34 runner with 96 mph exit velocity off tee. Will be a monster physically in college. University of Oregon commit. Clean bath path and hit 2 extremely hard hit balls to oppo and pull gap in game action. Flashes power to both sides of field. Average defender at first base. Projects as RHP/DH in college. Controlled delivery with short draw on back-side and good arm speed out front. Fastball has life at 86-88 mph. Solid shape on breaking ball; inconsistent feel for zone that continues to improve. Cut action on firm changeup in/around zone.

2015 Future Games - 6-foot-6, 210-pound 2-way player. Ran a 7.3 60. Ramsey has a long, projectable frame. Hitting from the left side, he stays tall in the box with good leverage at contact. He shows power to the gaps now and makes consistent hard contact. Produced 95 mph exit velocity off tee. He plays first base, but is athletic and runs enough to possibly move to a corner outfield spot. He has a simple, compact delivery on the mound and his arm works well with downward plane on his fastball. He pitches 85-89 mph and will touch the low 90's. Breaking ball was 70-71 mph for strikes and changeup ranged 79-81 mph. He is steadily improving his secondary offerings and shows the ability to throw three pitches for strikes. Has huge ceiling and will continue to develop. University of Oregon commit.

Breaking ball was 65-69 mph for strikes and changeup ranged 74-76 mph. He is steadily improving his secondary offerings and shows the ability to throw three pitches for strikes. Top 2-way player in state for 2017 class. Has huge ceiling and will continue to develop.

8/16/19:Worked 89-to-91 mph with a heavy fastball, pairing it with a low-80s slider that displayed short, vertical break that mirrored the heater. Like Harper, struggled throwing strikes and was far too hittable in the zone, allowing batters to frequently hit ahead in the count, sitting fastball. Both have the potential to miss bats in the Wildcat bullpen in 2020 but likely need to find more effective control to work factor into a starter’s gig.

3/27/18:Freshman RHPJimmy Ramseyworked an impressive final 2.1 innings and picked up the win in the Wildcats Friday night victory. He allowed no runs, one hit while striking out two. He also worked the final two-thirds of an inning during Kentucky’s game three win on Sunday. Pounded the zone with a 90-91 mph fastball and an 81 mph slider. Ramsey has many of the needed ingredients to become a top 10 round prospect for the 2020 draft. (Seifert)
