Physical: 6-foot-0, 160 pounds; Lean, athletic build. 7.23 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; has a pre-pitch bat waggle. Lifts hands with a knee knock leg kick for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a short swing path with a two handed finish. More groundballs than line drives and flyballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. swing repeats; pull side pop. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while sitting back. Hands are off to the side with a seamless transfer. Moderate arm circle from a high 3/4 arm slot. OF - 77 MPH.
6/30/21
Physical: Highly athletic 6-foot, 155lb frame with projection left. 7.29 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Narrow, balanced stance with the knees facing inward to start; utilized a directional leg kick to initiate the bat head through a slightly uphill, whippy path producing plenty of extension on the backside. Posted a mostly pull-side approach, lifting to the LCF part of the field at a 56% clip (via Trackman). Found the barrel with leverage at impact, staying behind at recording a 344 foot batted ball distance at his peak with easy doubles power available. Middle of the order type bat with good rotational scores and a natural feel to hit. Worked up to a T92 mph bat-exit velocity with room for more.
Defensively: The outfielder generated efficient, clean movements during defense, beating the ball to the spot with a soft glove hand leading the way out in front. Funneled softly to the beltline, releasing from a H ¾, accurate slot with some arm talent (82 mph, CF/RF skillset).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber with consistent pace to the delivery; repeated well and released from a smooth H ¾ slot, stabbing in the back slightly. The FB ranged from 70-72 with strike throwing tendencies, mixing a commanded 68-71 mph SL across the plate. Dropped in a short 65-66 mph CH with slightly lesser spin (killed).
7/22/20
Physical: Lengthy and athletic 6-foot, 150-pound frame with plenty of projectability in the build and room to fill out as he matures. 7.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Slightly open, balanced stance with the hands showing slight rhythm deep at the shoulder as the barrel points straight over the back. Utilized an aggressive but controlled knee knock stride in order to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path with natural lift into the hitting zone. Was repeatedly on-plane early and able to turn the barrel head with intent towards impact at the front of the plate yielding mostly pull-side contact to the LCF gap during batting practice. The lower half was athletic and adjustable and helped create efficient turns on balls pitched in any quadrant. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 87 mph according to Trackman Baseball with room to continue seeing this measurable rise as he fills out.
Defensively: The primary infielder moved well in space with long, precise strides getting down through the baseball with regularity. Approached the ball with a low center of gravity while fielding off of his left side with a soft glove hand and feel for catch and throw skills. An accurate, high ¾ slot worked well from a high ¾ slot with a full arm circle. SS - 77 mph
3/01/20
Physical: Lean, athletic frame. 7.6 runner in the 60; 4.35 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Athletic, wide base, knees slightly bent in, hands are back and high, uses a medium stride for timing Barrel clears the zone quickly, plus bat speed, great use of the lower half. Consistent hard contact up the middle/to pull side. 87 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: OF: Choppy, deliberate footwork on approach, fields the ball outside his glove foot, INF: Plays well on the run, fields it inside his arm foot, shuffles to release. OF: Long arm swing; over the top slot, INF: Medium arm swing with a 3/4 arm slot. INF - 73 MPH. OF - 76 MPH. Pitching: Works up temp with a high leg lift, sits into back leg as strides out in line, gets shoulder tilt before pulling through to a repeatable release and balanced follow through. Long, whippy arm action to a high 3/4 slot. FB: T73, 70-73 MPH. Has life out of the hand with arm side run. CB: 62-65 MPH. Sharp 11-5 break with depth. CH: 62-64 MPH. Maintains hand speed with arm side fade.
