Madigan, a young 2021 right-handed hitting first baseman, stands at 5-foot-10 and weighs 148 pounds, ran a 7.81 60. Offensively- Starts with a square balanced lower half with the hands above and slightly outside the back shoulder. Initiates the swing with a lift of the front foot with a moderate stride towards the pitcher while the hands are dropped to just above the back hip. Drove the ball well from the pull side gap to the middle of the field keeping the barrel tight thru the zone. Recorded an impressive exit velocity of 80 MPH on the day, but lands on the lead toe which causes the lead hip to open to early costing some extension on the follow through. Hands could also be a bit higher coming down and thru the ball rather than a more circular path. Defensively- Showed athletic and fluid movements to the ball. Turned the 3-6-3 double play with a glove side turn and able to create a throwing lane from either an outside or inside position of the line. Throws showed good carry and accuracy with a registered arm velocity of 66 MPH.
