Keagle, a 2019 right-handed hitting first baseman, stands at a solid 6-foot-2 and weighs 200 pounds, ran a 7.50 60. Offensively- Starts with an upright square lower half, with the hands held above and in front of the back shoulder with the barrel of the bat 45-degrees to the ground. Initiates the swing with a shift of weight to the back side while the lead foot is slightly picked up with minimal movement towards the pitcher and the hands are loaded straight back just inside of the back shoulder. During batting practice worked the ball well, driving the ball with authority, from the pull side line to the center field area. Big kid that is able to keep the barrel tight and compact thru the zone getting quality extension with a two handed high finish over the back shoulder. Recorded an impressive exit velocity of 85 MPH on the day. Nice size and powerful swing make this 2019 grad a must follow over the next few years. Defensively- Approaches the ball a bit tentatively waiting for the ball rather than an aggressive approach. Fields the ball in front of the body with very little pre-pitch movement, getting back on the heels a bit. When holding the runner on, showed a more aggressive approach, turning the 3-6-3 double play to the glove side and gaining quality momentum towards second base with the throw on the inner half of the baseline. Recorded an arm velocity of 71 MPH on the day.
