Montesanti stands 5-foot-9 and a 130 pounds with wide shoulders and room for growth. He ran a 4.70 home to 1B with an exit velocity of 68 MPH. Offensively-  At the plate from the left side, he stands quiet and tall with his hands head level.  Uses short leg lift on the pitch for timing.  Lifts his head slightly on load, should work on staying at the same level.  Short and quick to the ball, tends to pull off at times.  Slightly downward path.  Gets full hip rotation.  Should work on extension.  Good athlete could adjust easily. Defensively- As a middle infielder Paul starts low to the ground in a spread position. Covers ground well due to long strides. Fields the ball underneath at times and tends to stand and stop his momentum into his throws. May project better at 3B over time. Peak INF velocity was 74 MPH, above average for a 2019 grad.  Pitching- On the mound he starts hands chest high, uses side step to get to balance.  Leads well with hip, gains ground down the mound.  Long loose high ¾ arm slot.  Throws downhill.  Glove side clears, departs rubber clean.  Showed above average arm strength for his age, topping 75mph. Curveball featured early action at 58-60 MPH. Change up has some feel with some split like movement late at 65-67 MPH.
