An athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 152 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands in the box with feet shoulder width apart. Simple load actions. Quick direct path to the baseball. Displayed hard consistent contact during batting practice at the NY 2020 games. Defensively- the OF displayed active footwork. Carroll uses his active footwork to gain momentum on throws to the plate. A quick exchange to a high ¾ arm slot. Pitching- the right handed pitcher displayed a repeatable balanced delivery. Throws from a high ¾ arm slot. FB has late life and CB has late sharpe actions. Carroll has feel for a CH with late fade down in the zone.
Sean is a 2020 upperclassman who measures at 5’11 150lbs. He steps into the batter’s box with a narrow tall stance and high hands over his back shoulder. Steve uses a high leg-kick stride to time up his body to attack the baseball. He shows above average strength for his size and a short repeatable swing. He recorded an exit velocity of 82 mph. Sean showed excellent instincts and anticipation from his OF spot during the workout. He is an aggressive OF who gets good reads off the bat. He gathers himself well getting behind balls in the air and has good body control with breakdown position for balls on the ground. He recorded a ball speed velocity of 76 mph. Pitching- Throws from a high 3/4 slot FB top 76, Broad shoulders, attacks the zone. showed sharp bite and effective CB in the low-mid 60's. flashed changeup with some fade in the zone. Operated strictly out of the stretch, clean extension out front.
