ACADEMIC GAMES II (Aug 21, 2016)
Right-handed hitting catcher and outfielder with a pop time of 2.18. Threw 67 mph from behind the dish as the arm strength, transfer and footwork all need to improve. The receiving needs to be soften as time on a pitching machine will help him work on securing the catch, improve his blocking and recovering as well. In the outfield, showed a solid approach to the ball, throwing 71 mph from right field to third base. Ran a 4.89 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 71 mph to it. The swing needs physical strength, as do most kids his age. The setup is wide with his feet and the back elbow is high. The front foot is picked up and he has a small stride to the ball, the foot is getting down to late. The path is below the ball, needs to work the barrel above the ball to help contact.
