7/18/17
6 foot, 190 pounds, thick, durable pitcher’s frame. Lower half has power to it. Athletic and fluid actions. Easy delivery out of a ¾ slot, stays balanced throughout with calm leg lift as he progresses through the kinetic chain. He works with a three pitch arsenal, mixing a fastball, slider, and changeup. His fastball primarily sat between 82-85 mph, with some natural sink to it. Heavy ball when working down in the zone. His slider sat between 73-77 mph. Good shape and spin, darts low and away on opposing right handers. A true bat misser. The changeup is still developing, coming in with the same velocity as his slider. Establishing feel and comfort will help it improve and round out his repertoire. His ability to log innings with his frame gives him a prototypical starter look. A high follow amongst Rhode Island’s 2018 prospects.

7/12/16
6-foot, 185-pound, strong athletic frame, has a great durable pitcher’s body. The back is wide and lower half is strong. A right-handed pitcher, the delivery is simple sound and repeatable. The hands start at the chest and are quiet throughout. The leg raise is under control with a little coil at the peak. The separation is on time, front arm is strong and glove is inline to target on release. The arm action is long on the back, comes out of a ¾ slot with some hand speed and life out front on release. Worked down in the zone and pounded the fastball to both sides of the plate. Fastball was clocked at 80-82 mph with more in there. The change up is an above average pitch, used his entire body to sell this pitch and was clocked at 73-75 mph with action. The breaking ball was thrown with some velocity at 71-73 mph, which makes me believe the fastball will have a good jump in velocity at some point.  Times were good at 1.19, worked fast tempo of delivery was good. One of the better arms I’ve seen in the class of 2018, has major pitch ability.

2/16/15
Showed very well for himself. On the mound, he repeated a clean delivery out of a ¾ slot and stayed with his arm very well. Fastball sat at 75 and he was out front with extension. His changeup was a circle change and sat at 66, with the correct rotation. The breaking ball was slurvy and sat at 62. Showed athleticism in the stretch as he was 1.44 out of a small leg lift. The arm is clean and one to watch. As a positional player, he ran a 7.97 and threw 68 from shortstop. The arm path was clean, and the glove is good. The footwork and prep steps need reps. At the plate, he shows a flat path and which he throws his hands very well to the ball. Tee exit velocity of 81. Clesas is very good for a 2018.
