 6’0, 160-pound catcher shows intriguing 2-way upside, striking out the side in his inning of work and picking up a double and triple in game action.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some well-proportioned present strength, projectable.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into toe tap and proper load.  Generates above average bat speed through the zone, whippy at times.  Swings with authority.  Hammered a triple to RF over the RF’s head and found consistent hard contact w/ simple, repeatable swing.  Defensively, shows solid release w/ carry to target arm strength and throws were on the bag on this day. On the mound, righty pitched from a full wind-up into OTT release.  Simple, repeatable delivery w/ super quick arm.  Intriguing velocity ceiling as frame continues to mature.  Some deception w/ the glove, hides his release point.  Straight FB w/ some ride through the zone.  Tight short downer CB w/ late bite, chance to be a swing and miss offering.  Pounded the zone, pitched with intent w/ his 2-pitch mix on this day, 9 of 14 for strikes.  Generated 5 swing and misses on 5 swings, allowing zero contact as he struck out the side.


6-foot, 160-pound lean frame; C/RHP. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 81 mph. Started in balanced athletic  stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed was rapid, used a level swing plane and good extension on his finish. His best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 73 mph; had sure hands, quick feet and a clean exchange. While catching, he displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.98-2.03; Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a high ¾ slot and a compact arm action. On the mound, where he showed above average arm speed to the plate, he used a short arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher. He located his curveball for a strike at 67-69 mph; sinking curveball showed plus action. His fastball was 80-82 mph.
