No. 1 Mount Carmel (9-0) slipped past Briarcliff 5-4 in five innings behind AJ Lewis. Lewis drove home all five Caravan runs with a single in the second and a three-run bomb in the fourth, that wound up being the Caravan game-winner. Bailey Egan nailed down the save with a 1-2-3 fifth, for Aaryn Chandler (3-0).  

No. 2 St. Rita (13-0) stormed past Bambridge- Ehrhardt 11-1 to advance to the tournament semifinals in Myrtle Beach, SC. Connor McLillie (2-0) fired 4.1 shutout innings, allowing three hits with five strikeouts to pick up the win. Porsche Player of the Week Tyler Halas and Cal Greenfield went deep for the Mustangs. For Tennessee-bound Halas it was his fourth bomb of the season with 23 RBI to go with his gaudy .525 batting average. For Greenfield, who is hitting .467, it was his first bomb of the season and has now driven in 10 runs for St. Rita.

No. 3 Providence (8-2) was stunned by Lincoln-Way Central 5-3 at Tom Dedin Field in New Lenox.
Trailing 3-1 in the top of the seventh, Lincoln-Way Central (4-4), exploded for four runs. Sean Studer, who rushed for over 1,500 yards for the Knight’s football squad this fall, ripped a two-run single to tie the game at 3-3.Nick Podgorny ripped an RBI single to give the Knights the lead 4-3 and later in the inning, Jake Morgan walked with the bases loaded forcing in Studer to conclude the scoring.
