Open to all Class of 2023, 2024 & Class of 2025 high school prospects.

The Prep Baseball Report Underclass Trials is an open showcase for Class of 2023, 2024 and 2025 prospects. Not only will players receive high-level exposure, but the event will also serve as an identifier for the Prep Baseball Report Future Games, which is the premier summer scouting event for 2023 prospects across our coverage area, in addition to the 2024 Underclass Games.

All participants at the Underclass Trials will have their performance videotaped and hosted in their player profile, along with their verified statistics and scouting reports at PrepBaseballReport.com, which is subscribed to by hundreds of colleges and pro scouts across the country. Top players will be listed accordingly in our statewide player rankings.

High-level prospects have the opportunity to be invited to the Prep Baseball Report Future Games, which features the top 2023 prospects from our nation-wide coverage area. More than 250 college coaches from all over the country annually attend this event. The tenth-annual Future Games will take place on July 28-July 31 (Wednesday-Saturday) at LakePoint, a state-of-the-art 8-field baseball complex located in Cartersvile, GA.

The Underclass Trials also serves as an identifier for the 2024 Underclass Games and 2025 Top Prospect Games.

The Underclass Trials will be held at Ozinga Field, home to the Windy City Thunderbolts, located in Crestwood, IL. Roster spots are limited as this event did sell out last year. We hope to see you on June 8th. If you have any questions, call 708-387-0500 or email one of our Scouting Directors.

Scouting, Technology and Data Analysis In One Event

Since 2005, Prep Baseball Report’s mission has been to provide the most credible scouting and event platform to help players and recruiters alike. As baseball has evolved, so have we.

Prep Baseball Report has recently partnered with global leaders in the baseball technology and analysis space to deliver an unparalleled in-event and post-event experience. Now, at events across the country, players will receive actionable data from their event performance,  captured by industry-leading technologies, so they can elevate their game and get to the next level.

Unrivaled Access to Your Data

Following a Prep Baseball Report event, players will receive unrivaled access to their advanced ball-tracking and swing metrics through the TrackMan and Blast Connect apps. Additionally, to help players understand the advanced data metrics, Prep Baseball Report has partnered with Driveline, the world’s leader in data-driven player development, to generate analysis of your performance through the data sets with tips of how to identify strengths and improve deficiencies. Furthermore, key metrics will live inside your Prep Baseball Report profile to help players in their recruitment process.

Our Partners

TRACKMAN:
TrackMan is the global leader in ball-tracking accuracy. Following a Prep Baseball Report event, all players will get unrivaled access to their performance data in the Trackman interactive app. Players can create custom dashboards that unlock both hitting and pitching data.

Pitching Features Include:

  • Pitching data access includes: release speed, spin rate, spin axis, release height, extension, horizontal and vertical break, and location on each pitch

  • See each pitch trajectory in 3D from multiple viewpoints

  • Create defined tags to label and compare pitches

  • Pin pitches together to create tunneling visualizations between different pitch types

  • Visualize each pitch location

Hitting Features Include:

  • Hitting data access includes: Exit speed, distance traveled, launch angle, launch direction, spin rate, contact depth and contact side/height for each swing.

  • Visualize plate coverage

  • Pairing of all data points on each swing

Key ball flight metrics will also live inside player profiles at PrepBaseballReport.com for the benefit of college coaches and recruiters, which will help prospects advance to the next level. TrackMan’s advanced data metrics will augment what players already receive from a PBR showcase, which includes an edited video of their performance, personalized scouting reports, verified statistics, run times and positional velocities.

BLAST:
Blast is the global leader in swing analysis and used by nearly every MLB organization. Following a Prep Baseball Report event, players will receive access to BlastConnect in the Blast App, that unlocks critical insights and actionable data from their performance.

Features Include:

  • Swing Analysis and Blast Motion hitting assessment

Driveline is the global leader in data-driven player development. Following a Prep Baseball Report event, players will receive a Player Development Snapshot utilizing the data collected at all PBR events where technology from other PBR partners is present. In this Snapshot, players will receive:

  • Data analysis and breakdown to promote greater understanding of the information collected, what the information actually means in their specific case, and how to ultimately utilize this information moving forward.

  • Personalized Snapshot will be delivered through Driveline’s in-house training software, TRAQ, where athletes will also find additional resources and visualizations to benefit their understanding and playing careers.

  • Access to Driveline’s TRAQ system, where all data-sets collected at Prep Baseball Report events will be housed.

  • Access to Driveline’s EDGE system that recreates 3D animations of spin and movement profiles.

VIZUAL EDGE:
Vizual Edge is a market leader in visual performance assessment and training that multiple MLB clubs use for its players. During Prep Baseball Report events, players will take the Vizual Edge 15-minute baseline evaluation. Following the event, players will receive an email PDF of your results - your EDGE SCORE - that will identify your strengths and weaknesses, which directly impacts on-field performance. Visual skills are critical for pitch recognition, reaction speed, timing, seeing spin on the ball, defensive performance and much more. Your EDGE Score will also live inside your Prep Baseball Report profile.

Exposure:
The showcase will be featured on the Prep Baseball Report website, which is subscribed to by more than 900 colleges. Event information including statistics and scouting reports will also be posted on the Prep Baseball Report’s website, at PrepBaseballReport.com. Top players will be identified and ranked.
