OUTLOOK:

Head Coach John Lawson and the Brownstown Central Braves are looking to build off last year's experience and compete for both a Mid-Southern Conference title and sectional title.  The Braves finished last season with a 16-9 record and were 6-3 in conference play.  Lawson will look to three Juniors for heavy contributions this spring.  RHP/3B Mitchell Grider returns to the mound after pitching in 47 innings in 2013. The righty finished his sophomore campaign with a 5-2 record and a 2.50 ERA.  Fulfilling the catching duties is Junior Cole Borden.  Borden hit .368 last spring and posted a .994 fielding percentage.  RHP/2B Terry Anderson is expected to give the Braves quality innings on the mound in 2014.  Anderson went 2-0 with a 0.34 ERA in 21 IP last spring.  Seniors Drew Shoemaker and Collin Dehart will also play key roles for the Braves.  Shoemaker, a P/1B, threw in 24 innings last spring with a 2-2 record and a 2.88 ERA. DeHart, the Braves SS, hit .254 his sophomore season.
