OUTLOOK:  

Coach Maloney's squad is coming off close 1-0 loss in last year's district semifinals to Warren Cousino, who went on to win the district title. This year's squad returns the school's top two pitchers, Pierson Heythaler, who went 4-2 with a 2.02 ERA in 36 innings of play, as well as junior lefty John Young, who went 4-0 with a 3.89 ERA while striking out 33 in 35 innings. Hythaler, one of the state's top unsigned arms, has recently been seen in the mid 80's. The biggest question for Coach Maloney comes in the form of offensive production. He will be counting on new players to step up and fill the holes left by the 2013 graduating class. If the pitching, defense, and offensive production come together, Warren Mott should compete for a conference title against the likes of Lanse Creuse, Romeo, and Grosse Pointe North.
