OUTLOOK:

The Tigers spent a good part of the season at the No.1 spot in our Power 25 rankings last spring on their way to 34 wins and a State Quarterfinal appearance.  The St. Xavier lineup will feature 6 returning starters that includes Louisville signee Austin Clemons, who will move to SS this spring for Coach Porta.  Seniors Hayden Ford, Miles Lee, and Sam Springer all look to play key roles for the offense with junior JD Mundt providing some pop as well.  The biggest question mark lies with the pitching staff as the Tigers look to replace 22 wins on the mound from 2013.  With one of the top returning offensive lineups in the state, if Lee and junior Grant Wessling are able to return to form on the mound following off-season shoulder surgery, the Tigers have to be considered the preseason favorite to defend their 7th Region title.
