As we prepare for our 2014 high school preseason coverage, we are going to take a quick glance at teams from across the state.

OUTLOOK:

The Sullivan Golden Arrows and Head coach Matt McLaren are looking to make a deep run in the 2A state tournament this spring.  McLaren's squad will be led by a talented group of Seniors and Juniors.  C/1B Noble Harrison returns for his final season at Sullivan after hitting .354 with 12 2B, 1 HR, and 34 RBI last year.  Senior Luke McPhail, the Golden Arrows center fielder, will be a key producer offensively.  The 6-foot-2, 160 pound outfielder hit .358 last spring with 3 2B, 16 RBI and 13 SB. McLaren will also look to senior SS/RHP, Camdon Kuppler, for offensive production.  The 5-foot-9, 160 pound Kuppler finished his Junior year hitting .351 with 3 2B, 17 RBI and also swiped 11 bags.  Sullivan Juniors Casey Garner, Cody Turner and John Cox all return with key roles this spring.  Garner, a 5-foot-6, 150 pound IF/P hit just under .300 as a sophomore while knocking in 15 runs and stealing 13 bases.  The 6-foot-1, 175 pound Turner posted 12 RBI last season while hitting .312 and Cox finished his sophomore season with a .341 BA, 20 RBI, and 8 SB.
