2016 Massachusetts Spring Team Preview: Hopkins Academy

Hopkins AcademyTeam Name: Hopkins Academy
Head Coach:  David Vreeland
Division: IV
2015 Record: 16-4
Conference: Hampshire East
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/2

Overall Thoughts:

  • We lost a division I commit in Evan Delaney (UMass) and a division III first baseman in Zach Kelley (Clark), so we expect to be down a bit. However, we still have division I commit Brett Morrison (Fairfield) and his little brother and stud pitcher Jonathan Morrison, who is a sophomore. As an 8th grader, he pitched and won the state semifinals. Since then he has compiled over 100 strikeouts.

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Starting pitching
  • Defense
  • Youth

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Scoring runs
  • Experience
  • Outfield depth
