Uncommitted 2016 outfielder Sey Juan Lawrence of King HS in Tampa has really been showing well at recent events. Lawrence is undersized at 5-foot-8, 140 pounds but he is very athletic, has good strength for his size, and has strong hands and wrists. He is an above average to plus ML runner and is aggressive with great instincts on the base path. Sey Juan also has an advanced approach at the plate where he is quiet, relaxed, and shows patience. He possesses a short, quick swing with a flat swing plane and he hits consistent line drives to all fields with gap power.
Lawrence may or may not be under the radar but if he were a few inches taller he would likely already be committed. He will be a solid player at the next level and a pest for opposing pitchers at the top of the lineup. Look for Sey Juan to finish the summer strong and have a big senior year in 2016.
