2016 RHP Bryce Bartlett Commits to UCA

By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

2016 RHP Bryce Bartlett committed to Central Arkansas on Wednesday December 23rd. Bartlett was a standout sophomore for Pulaski Academy High School on their way to a 5A State Championship Runner Up. As a junior it appeared Bartlett regressed and was somewhat moved to the back burner of prospects in this class. After figuring out some medical issues that caused him to lose weight and playing for the Midwest Redskins in the summer Bartlett had a big fall. He played in the PBR All-State Games at the University of Arkansas Little Rock and performed well. He began garnering attention from several colleges in attendance before committing to UCA. Below is my write on Bartlett from that event.

2016 RHP Bryce Bartlett, Searcy HS
Bartlett is a 6-foot-2 180 right-hander with an athletic frame and build. He pounded the strike zone with a fastball of 84-86 mph touching 87 mph. He complemented the fastball with a sharp breaking ball thrown 74-77 mph with late life. He does a sound job repeating his delivery and stays balanced throughout. I would like to see him shorten his stride and work more on top of the baseball but it works for him. Overall Bartlett is a good athlete with a quick short arm action who projects to get better.
