With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the great state of Michigan the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Grandville Bulldogs

Team Name: Grandville Bulldogs
Head Coach: Ricky Clark, 47-23
Division: I
2015 Record: 23-15
Conference Record: OK Red, 3rd place
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 3/2

2016 Team Strengths:

  • Leadership
  • Work ethic
  • Speed

2016 Team Weaknesses:

  • Experienced pitching

Coach Outlook: This year’s team will have a mix of experience and young players that will look to compete in every game we play. The kids have been working really hard this off-season and we are excited for them to continue that growth through the spring.   

Top Returning Players:

  • Bailey Peterson, SS, 2016, 5’11” 175, R/R, two year starter, All-Conference, All-State, hard worker
  • Ron Poll, 3B/1B/C, 2016, 5’11” 185, R/R, injured last season (knee)
  • Jordan Lubbers, P/OF, 2016, 5’8” 165, R/R, locates three pitches for strikes, competes well
  • Dylan Dykstra, 3B, 2016, 5’9” 180, R/R, positive attitude
  • Brady Paganelli, 2B/SS, 2017, 5’9” 180, R/R, athletic, competitor
  • Connor Gifford, OF, 2017, 6’1” 180, R/L, good speed, developing defensively
  • Josh Waalkes, P/1B, 2017, 6’2” 190, L/R, good work ethic and attitude
  • Tommy Blitchok, C, 2018, 6’1” 185, R/R, hit very well as a freshman
