With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Michigan is eagerly anticipating bringing the great state of Michigan the best high school coverage throughout the entire state.

Starting February 1st, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2016 Spring Team Preview: Lakeview Spartans

Team Name: Lakeview Spartans
Head Coach: Jeff Sovern
Division: I
2015 Record: 23-8
Conference Record: SMAC – East, 9-1
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/3

2016 Team Strengths:

• Leadership
• Offense
• Starting pitching

2016 Team Weaknesses:

• Room for improvement on defense
• Gap power and manufacturing runs
• Pitching depth

Coach Outlook:  A lot of quality returners are coming back and we have some new kids from JV that will make an immediate impact. We are hoping to contend for the SMAC title again and hope to have some success in the tournament.
