With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Indiana is eagerly anticipating bringing the best high school baseball coverage throughout the entire state.

Throughout March we will be releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into our Preseason All-State Teams and Preseason Team Rankings.

2016 SPRING TEAM PREVIEW: Angola Hornets

Head Coach: Roger Roddy
Class: 3A
2015 Record: 13-12
Conference (2015 Record): Northeast Corner (6-6)
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 8/6

2016 Team Strengths:

• Pitching (2.74 Team ERA, 2015)

Top Returning Players:

• Hunter Stutlz, P/3B, 2016- 5'10" 180 lbs. ERA last year 0.87 with 12 doubles. 
• Jake Roddy, P/ C, 2016- 6'0", 190 lbs. 2.12 ERA
• Jake Honer,  CF/P, 2017- .325 avg
• Chance Roddy, P/SS, 2018- 6'2 175 lbs. 0.80 ERA

Coach's Outlook: We have the opportunity to have something really special this season. We have all of our pitching returning. We still have a couple defensive questions to answer.

PBR Outlook:  The Hornets return strong pitching this spring along with eight starters. If the offense is capable of producing runs on a regular basis, look for Angola to compete towards the top of the NECC and compete for a sectional crown.
