With the 2016 spring season right around the corner, PBR Indiana is eagerly anticipating bringing the best high school baseball coverage throughout the entire state.

Throughout March we will be releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into our Preseason All-State Teams and Preseason Team Rankings.

2016 SPRING TEAM PREVIEW: West Vigo Vikings

• Jordan Schaffer (right), SS, 2016: 4 year starter, committed to Indiana State. .414 BA, 8 2B, 22 RBI, 33 R, 13SB.
• Ty Lautenschlager, P/1B, 2017: 3 year starter. .333 BA, 8 2B, 2 HR, 29 RBI, 21 R

• Wyatt Joy P, 2018: 2-0 with 1 save last year 
• Chance Cooper, 2B, 2018
• Jake Lautenschlager (right), C, 2019

PBR Outlook:  The Vikings are young, but expect to have good pitching and defense this spring. If they're able to produce at the plate, Coach DeGroote's team could make some noise come tournament time.  Despite losing nine seniors from last year, they have talent to build around. Coach DeGroote is high on his sophomore and freshman classes.  Senior SS Jordan Schaffer and Junior ace Ty Lautenschlager will be keys to the Vikings success this season.
