2017 was a great year, as we look forward to 2018, let us take time to review the top stories or accomplishments from 2017.

The No.10 of 2017 was the season of Woodlawn High School as the won the 1A State Championship with a record of 33-1. Today we review the great season Harding Academy had as the 3A State Championship as the No.9 story of the year.

The Wildcats comprised a record of 32-5, while accomplishing a conference, district, regional and state championship. A group of versatile athletes that played with a high energy level.

On the mound they were anchored by 2018 RHP/OF Peydon Harlow. Harlow is a physical athlete with advance arm strength who gave them a chance to beat any team in the state. He was surround by a solid group of position players led by 2018 MIF Pate Fullerton, who is one of the better middle infielders the state has to offer and sets the table for them at the top of the lineup.

2018 Forecast

2018 should be have great expectations for the Wildcats; they return their pitching staff and key members from the 2017 roster. They will need to find a consistent answer at catcher but that might be their only question mark. Across the state there should be plenty of competition. Charleston, Clinton, and Greenland return most of their rosters from last spring as well so they should offer plenty of challenges. Horatio returns a solid core from 2017 including 2018 RHP Wade Beasley who offers up a mid-90’s fastball and a power bat.
