With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: Aurora Greenmen

Team Name: Aurora Greenmen
Head Coach: Michael Brancazio
Division: II
2017 Record: 20-6
Conference Record: Suburban League - American Conference, 10-2 1st Place
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 6/5

2018 Team Strengths:

  • Senior Leadership
  • Starting Pitching
  • Depth

Coach Outlook: "After a 20-6 campaign which had Aurora make it to the regional semifinals by winning the Hudson District in Division 1 (Lost 3-1 to Mentor), Aurora is returning 6 position player starters and 75% of the pitching staff. Aurora is now a Division 2 team and has an opportunity for a special season but we realize the competition in Division 2 is just as difficult in Division 1."

PBR Outlook: A team who could beat anyone in Division 1 moves down to Division 2 with a large group of seniors with a highly-touted 2020 in the mix as well should mean good things for the Greenmen in 2018. Look for Aurora to battle through some tough competition in the northeast before getting a taste of what Division 2 baseball has to offer come tournament time. A team to watch in 2018 with Evan Fromwiller, Joe Capretta, Will Carpenter and plenty of others as seen below.
