2019 Right-Handed Pitchers

Although the recruiting process has sped up at an incredible (and sometimes absurd) pace, college coaches are constantly on the lookout for players to bolster their recruiting class right up until signing day senior year. This week, On the Hunt takes a look at six highly impressive right-handed pitchers from around the country who will have coaches following them throughout the spring and summer. Equipped with projectable frames, strong arms, and polished deliveries, each player may have a chance to become a starter at the next level. Included are pitchers from Illinois, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.

Teague Conrad RHP / Conant, IL / 2019

When it comes to passing the eye test as a pitcher, Conrad immediately does so as he stands tall at 6-foot-4, 185-pounds with wiry-athleticism, and room to continue filling out. His fastball was up to 88 mph in a PBR Illinois bullpen, and I predict there will be another jump this spring/summer. He delivers out of a ¾ slot which helps assist the heavy sinking action that his fastball produces. Utilizing an uptempo, compact delivery, Conrad also strides across his body before falling towards the first base line. Because of his athleticism, Conrad is able to repeat his delivery, and his quick arm allows the ball to jump out of his hand. His slider (74-77) features tight spin, and sharper, 10/4 break, and may have a chance to be a swing and miss pitch in the near future. Conrad, shows some feel for a changeup with sinking action at 75-77. Given his projectable frame, quick arm, and deceptive slot, expect Conrad to be closely followed by recruiters as one of the top uncommitted 2019 arms.
