Although the 2020 spring season has been cancelled, we’ve now had over a year of scouting games, travel tournaments, invitational events and showcases to gather information on the 2022 class. With the 2020 & 2021 player rankings released, it's time to take our first look at the 2022 class.

Since its inception in 2005, the Prep Baseball Report has evolved into one of the country’s biggest and most respected independent scouting services, with a singular focus of providing comprehensive year-round coverage in every state we are in. The mission of the Prep Baseball Report is to scout and promote amateur baseball - high school, junior college and college - and, ultimately, help athletes achieve their dreams of playing baseball at the next level.

With more than 150 scouts, we have the largest baseball scouting infrastructure across all levels of amateur baseball in the country. Our multimedia platforms and events work in tandem, ultimately creating the most powerful source of high school baseball promotion in each state.  While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Rankings are based off evaluations by scouting director Dan Jurik as well as additional PBR scouts across the country who have seen prospects from the state at various events.

TOP 10 PROSPECTS

#1 Isaac Hill, RHP, Hidden Valley, Oregon State commit
Strong, projectable pitching frame at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds. Hill has a short, clean arm stroke and a consistent feel for his mechanics. Ball comes out of hand easily as he works in the mid-to-upper 80’s with his FB.

#2 Jackson Jaha, 3B, Clackamas, uncommitted
Complete hitter who has an advanced offensive game and is showing the ability to consistently produce hard contact against quality arms. He has a relaxed set-up in the box with a quiet head and loose hands. Barrel whips thru the zone with easy effort and he shows quality pitch recognition skills.

#3 Jacob Dodge, 1B/LHP, Southridge, uncommitted
Huge presence in the box at 6-foot-5, 225 pounds. Powerful left-handed swing that generates above average power. Athletically he moves well and should be able to handle additional strength without compromising his actions.

#4 Canon Reeder, OF, Summit, uncommitted
New to the state after relocating from Florida, Reeder has a solid skill set that allows him to impact the game in a lot of ways. The toolsy OF has athletic actions in the box with a quick, compact swing.

#5 Mason Spellecy, RHP,/SS Hood River Valley, uncommitted
At 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Spellecy is starting to tap into some of the raw talent he flashed in front of us last summer. There’s definitely some 2-way potential in his game but his ceiling on the mound is tough to ignore. With his easy delivery and short arm path, his pure stuff is likely to make a jump quickly.

#6 Cole Hubka, SS, Wilsonville, uncommitted
Wiry, athletic prospect with the actions and speed to stick on the dirt long-term. Hubka has shown consistent fielding abilities with an understanding for the speed of the game. Hits with a gap-to-gap approach at the plate with more power on the way.

#7 Ely Kennel, OF, Santiam Christian, uncommitted
With his athleticism, Kennel has bounced around to some different defensive roles but the one constant in his game remains his ability to hit. Creates easy bat speed from the left-side with a balanced stroke and emerging power.

#8 Nicholas Holm, 1B/3B, Clackamas, uncommitted
Makes it look easy in the box with a smooth, rhythmic swing and consistent barrel control. The ‘hitterish’ actions should make him a constant threat in the middle of a line-up as he settles into a corner INF spot.

#9 Ian Umlandt, LHP/1B, Sherwood, uncommitted
Emerged onto the scene in front of National Crosschecker, Shooter Hunt last spring. Umlandt has a durable frame with control of a quality 3-pitch mix. Works from a high release point and drives the ball downhill with intent.

#10 Mason Utech, C/SS, Lakeridge, uncommitted
Another impressive left-handed stick with some versatility. Utech showed well at our PNW Fall Championship tournament. Could end up in the INF or behind the dish. Possesses feel for the barrel at the plate and is capable of spraying hard contact to all fields.
