2023 MLB Draft: From The Hip, Day One

I think we’re typically prepared for a few more curveballs on the first day of the MLB Draft, but Day One of 2023’s draft went – mostly – as expected. The top-five players on our Draft Board, and really everyone else’s, went inside the first five picks. There weren’t very many noteworthy “falls” or substantial “risers” up and down the first 70 picks. We’re usually braced for a handful of prep players to price themselves out of the first round, or the draft entirely, but there don’t appear to be too many instances of this headed into Day Two.

With that being said, we took the time to choose and analyze some of the teams who made the most of their Sunday selections, breaking down our favorite hauls of the draft as a whole.
