If winning the 2023 National Championship wasn’t enough to convince you that the Tigers are in fact “back,” then allow the recruiting prowess of head coach Jay Johnson and company to cement it as fact. Reeling in seven top-50 recruits (five in the top-20 overall), the purple and gold is set to reload once again in 2024. A true coast-to-coast program, Johnson has united his West Coast recruiting acumen he gained at previous tenures with the abundance of talent that had always been attracted by Baton Rouge previously. This ‘24 group, in particular, boasts players from eight different states that reach all ends of the country from California to Nebraska to New Jersey, and as per usual, they’ve also stockpiled on talent from their own Louisiana backyard.
