2025 Class Rankings Update: Summer Edition

As the 2025 class wraps up their summers and heads to the start of the Junior campaigns, we take an updated look at the prospect rankings in the Natural State. The class is highlighted by the unique high-end talent throughout the rankings but most especially in the Top 10. The Razorbacks have put a claim on the in-state talent picking up commitments from 10 of the top 11 on the board. Starting with the super talented SS Landon Shaefer at the top and the toolsy utility man in Jaison DeLamar at number 3, the Razorbacks landed multiple power arms in the Brissey (2), Wren (4), Moody (5), Martin (6), and Peyton Lee (7). The top ten is rounded out by middle infielders Luke Cornelison and Landon Carter and finished up by the power arm Ridge Southerland at number 10.
There were multiple players that had strong performances in front of our staff with multiple guys making names for themselves representing Team Arkansas at the Future Games as well as a couple of others that made an impression in events throughout the summer. We highlight a handful of guys who raised their stock at the Future Games as well as a couple of other prospects to keep an eye on in the future.

Landon Carter SS / 2B / Sylvan Hills, AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 3
The recent Arkansas commit started his summer off with a bang at the Arkansas Prospects Scout Day running a blazing 6.39 60 and showing big tools from the short stop position. He parlayed that performance into an invitation to the Future Games where he let his bat speed shine from the right side picking up multiple hits in Georgia. With his game changing speed and enough arm strength to stay on the left-side of the infield in the future, Carter has shown all the necessary tools to be a big pickup for the Razorbacks and should be one to follow in the future.

Walt Jones SS / 2B / Ashdown , AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 4
Jones is another middle infielder that saw his stock rise after a strong performance representing the Natural State at the Future Games and earned a commitment to the University of Arkansas shortly after. The right-handed hitter has smooth rhythm at the plate with the ability to drive the ball to all fields showcasing present doubles power. In the infield, he shows rangy actions and a strong ability to play underneath the ball. This spark-plug type prospect should only continue to see big jumps as he continues to add strength to his slim 5-foot-10 and 165-pound frame.

Dillon Askew LHP / 1B / Rogers Heritage , AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 1
Askew showed why he is considered the top left-handed prospect in the state showing a strong four pitch mix and landing a commitment to Xavier shortly after his appearance at the Future Games. While Askew might not have the most overpowering stuff, he is able to effectively attack hitters with the ability to shape two breaking balls as well as show feel for the change up to go along with his advanced command of all four pitches. Currently sitting in the mid to upper 80's with the fastball, Askew has the smoothness in the delivery and a clean arm action that should continue to see jumps in velocity in the coming years.

Jackson Estes LHP / OF / North Little Rock , AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 2
The projectably built 6-foot-3 and 200-pound left-hander from North Little Rock saw his stock rise after his stint with Team Arkansas at the Future Games. Estes works a heavy sinking fastball with strong arm side run in the mid to upper 80's using quick hand speed and an athletic delivery. He pairs the fastball nicely with a 12/6 action breaking ball with big depth and late action and feel for a mid 70's change up with strong arm side fading action. With his hand speed and build, don't be surprised to continue to see big jumps from the left-hander on the mound in the near future.

Landon Holzhauer C / 3B / Fayetteville, AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 2
Holzhauer started the Summer as a well-known catch and throw backstop with advanced arm strength and quick showcase pop times as low as 1.87. But it was his bat that stole the show at the Future Games where he showed strong power to both sides of the field that included a no doubt homer in gameplay to deep left-center field. His ability to impact both sides of the ball at a high level makes him a definite must-follow prospect and should be landing on plenty of recruiting coordinators radars soon.

PROSPECTS THAT CAUGHT OUR ATTENTION IN THE SUMMER

Jayde Taylor OF / RHP / Valley View, AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 31 / POS: 4
The outfielder from Valley View put together an impressive showing this summer at the Top Prospect Upperclass Games where he put his power game on display. It started in the box where the right-handed hitter used his simple rhythm and easy mechanics to deliver exit velocities up to 97 mph with very strong rotation around the core. He also has shown a big arm in the outfield giving him the perfect corner outfield profile for teams at the next level.

Rylan Jones 1B / LHP / Jonesboro, AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 34 / POS: 3
Jones has one of the more projectable builds in the state standing at 6-foot-5 and 225-pounds. At the Arkansas Prospects Scout Day, the big left-hander worked the fastball up to 88 mph and showed a developing feel for a 72-74 mph slider all coming from a low 3/4 arm slot. At the plate, he uses his leverage and quick hands to work the middle of the field well and shows sneaky athleticism for his size running a 7.23 60. Jones is a true 2-way prospect that shows high-end upside on both sides of the ball.

Luke Altom SS / 2B / Harber , AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 40 / POS: 9
Another standout from the Arkansas Prospects Scout Day, Altom showed his high-end athleticism running a 6.71 60 that carried over to bouncy and rangy actions in the infield. At the plate Altom uses a strong load in the lower half and quick twitch actions to attack the ball with a level path and shows a strong understanding of how to manipulate the lower half to help with matching plane with the pitch. Although slightly undersized at 5-foot-8 and 150-pounds, Altom has the type of high-energy game and quick twitch actions on both sides of the ball to make an impact on a roster at the next level.

Daxton Horton OF / 1B / Bentonville, AR / 2025Rankings StateRank: 41 / POS: 8
Horton put together a strong performance at the Top Prospect Upperclass Games back in June where he turned some heads during BP. The left-handed hitter uses his compact stroke to generate exit velocities up to 94.4 mph thanks to hands working quickly through the zone and strong overall bat speed. Even with how quickly the hands work through the zone, Horton is able to maintain his balance well throughout the swing and shows some power working to both sides of the field.
