Two highly talented class 3A teams took the field in a Sectional 30 matchup as #3 Providence took on #5 Silver Creek in the sectional quarterfinal. IU recruit Sammy Barnett got the start for Silver Creek while Christian Graf got the ball for Providence. The scoring started in the top of the 1st when USI recruit Bryson McNay hit a solo shot to put Silver Creek up 1-0 early. Silver Creek pushed another across in the 2nd after Graf struggled with command and threw back to back wild pitches. Providence finally collected their first hit of the game in the 4th on a single from Kaden Williams who then advanced to 2nd on a wild pitch and stole 3rd. He was eventually drove in by a single off the bat of Reece Davis making it 2-1 Silver Creek.

In the top half of the 5th McNay (3-4 2 RBIs) collected his 3rd hit of the day and also drove in his 2nd RBI of the game with a hard single to LF making it 3-1 Silver Creek. Graf's day was done in the inning after going 4 2/3 giving up 3 R, 5 H while striking out 1 and walking 2. Providence then went to hard throwing sophomore Joe Wilkinson. Wilkinson worked out of the jam in the 5th getting Holden Groher to fly out to deep LCF. After a walk and 2 outs collected in the bottom half of the 5th, Williams continued his hot streak and drove a ground rule double to RCF that put runners on 2nd & 3rd with Providence star Timmy Borden coming to the plate. With an open base the Silver Creek coaching staff elected to intentionally walk Borden to load them up with 2 outs bringing junior catcher Adam Uhl to the dish for the Pioneers. Barnett got Uhl to roll over to Tyler Wheeler at SS to end the threat for Providence in the 5th.

In the top half of the 6th Silver Creek's Jack Hawkins singled to get the inning going for the Dragons. Two batters later and the bases were loaded after back to back walks from Providence's Wilkinson. The Dragon's 9 hole hitter Dylan Whitt then delivered a RBI single to LF to extend their lead to 4-1. Wilkinson's day was done after that hit, bringing Borden to the mound to limit the damage with no outs. The senior pounded the zone and limited the damage to 1 run making it 5-1 Silver Creek. Providence showed that they had some fight left in them in the bottom half of the 6th after Reece Davis banged a double off the RF wall followed up by a bloop single from Wilkinson. Nathan Proctor then delivered an RBI single making it 5-2. With runners on 1st and 3rd and 1 out a routine double play ball was thrown away by Silver Creek SS Tyler Wheeler which allowed another Providence runs making it 5-3. In the top half of the 7th a Gabe Falcone single plated another run for Silver Creek after a Tyler Kapust HBP and Holden Groher 2B down the RF line making it 6-3. Silver Creek pushed another across after a walk off steal attempt to 2nd scored  a run from 3rd making it 7-3. With 2 3 4 up for Providence nothing came for the Pioneers as Barnett got Borden to fly out to deep RF, Uhl to strike out and Davis to fly out to 2nd. Silver Creek will face Charlestown in the sectional 30 semi at 7:30
