AHSAA Final 4 Team Capsule: Spring Garden Panthers (24-8)

In one of the 1A state semifinals, Spring Garden will be hosting South Lamar in what promises to be an entertaining series. South Lamar brings a 19-8 record into their matchup vs. the 24-8 Panthers. This series will get underway on Thursday with a doubleheader beginning at 4:30 and the "if necessary" game would be Friday at 4:30 PM. The winner of this series will advance to the 1A state finals in Montgomery which will begin on Wednesday, May 16 at 4:00 PM at Patterson Field. Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) would be Thursday, May at 10:00 AM at Riverwalk Stadium.

Spring Garden returns 7 starters this year from last year's team that advanced to the 2nd round, only to be eliminated by Decatur Heritage. This is a veteran team that Coach Barrett Ragsdale brings into the Final 4 matchup.

Hitting .440 on the season

Austin Slayton Spring Garden, AL / 2018

Carries a .375 BA heading into the series

Colby Slayton SS / RHP / Spring Garden, AL / 2020

Has had an impressive sophomore campaign with a .430 BA.

The Panthers will need production from these four as they battle South Lamar.
