AHSAA Playoffs Weekend Recap

AHSAA 1A-6A playoff musings and the 7A playoff match ups are set. 

  Mother Nature had plans of her own this weekend and altered many of the 1st round playoff series throughout the state. A lot of series were moved back a day and started on Saturday but a few series will play games 1 and 2 today with an if necessary game 3 scheduled for Tuesday. The 7A playoff picture is clear now as teams in Alabama's largest classification finished area play last week and are gearing up for their first round match ups this weekend. We will have more content out this week as teams prepare for next weekend's 2nd round. But first, let's take a look at the 1A-6A 1st round results and how the 7A teams finished up in their race for the playoffs:

 

1A:

Heritage Christian defeated Ragland (2-0, 9-0)

(6) Fyffe and (4) Decatur Heritage begin their best of 3 series today. 

Collinsville and Red Bay begin their best of 3 series today.

Sulligent defeated Cold Springs (3-2. 13-0)

Vincent and (7) Westbrook Christian begin their best of 3 series today. 

Hatton and Section begin their best of 3 series today. 

(8) Luverne defeated Central- Hayneville (15-0, 22-0)

(9) Ariton and (5) Cottonwood play game 3 today after splitting the first 2 games. 

Cottage Hill defeated Washington County (3-2, 8-4)
