Silverado (1) vs. Las Vegas Patriots (2)

Silverado Hawks starter, ’21 Chris Cortez threw 6.1 innings before giving way to ’21 Ryeant Horacek with a 1-0 lead in the top of the seventh. The Patriots would not go quietly putting the leadoff runner on.  ’21 Travis Farrell bunted the runner to second. Then a walk was issued to ’21 Derek Brogan. Second baseman, '21 Logan Meusy drove a ball to right centerfield that caught a bit of the summer breeze and carried over the head of the Hawk centerfielder, resulting in a 2-run triple. Patriot starter '20 Jordan Bohnet went the distance, retiring the final three hitters in order for the complete game victory. Bohnet scattered five hits, striking out nine. The Hawks were led by ’19 Austin Whitaker (CSN) with two hits, while ’20 Josh Rogers had two hits for the Patriots.

’20 Josh Rogers, 1B, (Liberty)
Long levered, 6-foot-4 180, Rogers has a projectable frame with reliable infield actions. He displayed capable range on ground balls as well as fielding soft line drives and pop ups. He had
instincts for the position assisting fellow infielders with pick on balls int he dirt, gloving short as well as long hops. At the plate, he has manageable length to a swing that is easy to see future power. He adjusted with two strikes singling to right centerfield. Keep a close eye on him with physical gains, he could be a middle of the order type bat down the line.

'20 Jordan Bohnet , RHP, (Liberty)

Sturdy, 6-foot-2 200, Bohnet is a 3 pitch mix right hander with a fastball that topped out at 83. He threw a 3/4 breaking ball 67-70. He displayed an ability to get to his glove side with his fastball which expanded the zone accompanying his natural arm side run. The slight cross to his delivery with true 3/4 arm slot lended some deception and kept opposing hitters off balance. Velocity jumps could make Bohnet a solid follow next spring.
