No. 3 Strongsville (12-2) beat Elyria 11-2. Senior Connor Ryan received the win pitching four innings with right strikeouts and three walks. Senior Kory Hall and junior Austin Previt hit homeruns. Strongsville improves to 5-1 in the NOC.

No. 4 Centerville (14-1) 

No. 5 Hudson (12-1) 

No. 6 Massillon Jackson (12-1) beat Hartville Lake in Federal league play 7 to 4. Jackson’s Quinn Bender finished with a homer, two singles, two RBIs and two runs scored. Austin Szink was 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Polar Bears. Lake’s Matt Blasiole and Kyle Crites each had two hits. Junior Jonny Nottingham picks up the win in relief pitching 3 and 2/3 inning while striking out 7. On the season, he has pitched 19 and 2/3 innings while striking out 30 batters.

No. 31 Brunswick (12-2) beats Medina 9-3. Nick Furman (3-0) gets the win. Akron recruit Anthony Bova was 3-4 with 2 singles, a homerun, and 3 RBI. Kyle Burson was 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Kyle Michalik, Brian Lees and Brandon Kutrubs all had 2 singles each.

No. 2 Columbus DeSales (13-4) falls 3-1 to No. 6 Jonathan Alder in a showdown of Central Ohio's top Division II teams. Neither team uses their ace in this non-conference matchup, which leaves everyone looking for a potential playoff rematch. 

No. 3 Canton South (10-4) falls to No. 21 Louisville 7-1. For Louisville, Mike Kelly had three RBIs and Kyle White and Jon Crank had two hits apiece. Conner Thomson had two hits for Canton South.

No. 15 Ottawa-Glandorf (11-5) dominated Kenton (1-15) 11-1. Cody Bockrath led the Titans with a single and a double while Jaylen Von Sossan picked up the win on the mound and added a pair of singles. Kentucky commit Casey Schroeder had a double.

No. 1 Defiance Tinora (14-2) beat Edgerton (5-9) by a scored of 14-4. Sophomore Reid Rennollet went the distance for the Rams striking out 6. Sophomore Clay Pittman had 2 singles and a double. Sophomore Derek Drewes added 2 doubles.

No. 2 Hopewell Loudon (15-1) dominated Monroeville 21-3. Austin Kuhn, Eric Depinet and Bryan Scherger had two hits each.

No. 3 Bethel (11-2) falls to Arcanum 12-2.

No. 16 Columbus Grove (12-5) annihilated  Ada (2-10) by a score of 42-4. The Bulldogs scored 25 runs in the first, which is the 3rd most ever in Ohio High School Athletic Association history. Kody Griffith and Zack Barrientes had 4 hits a piece. The 42 runs are tied for sixth most in OHSAA history for a single game.

No. 17 Seneca East (11-2) topped Plymouth 10-2.

No. 18 Delphos St. Johns (10-3) 

No. 19 Cincinnati Christian (11-4) 

No. 20 Edon (9-5) atoned an earlier loss to Pettisville (6-9) by a score of 7-6. Edon scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the victory. Dakota Parrish hit a double and a home run to lead the bombers while Trevor Green hit a single and a double. Keegan Long picked up the win on the mound closing the game out with 3 strikeouts.

No. 24 Southern (13-0)

No. 25 Defiance Ayersville (10-5) fell to Wayne Trace (4-11) 10-2. Ayersville committed 10 errors.

 

UNRANKED TEAM SCORES

Patrick Henry (9-7) shutout Archbold (9-5) 8-0. University of Toledo commit Kevin Kline threw a 2-hitter striking out 9. Nick Gerschutz had a double and 3 RBI. Kollin Spence had 2 singles. Gabe Jones added a home run to deep right. 

Coldwater (10-5) topped St. Marys (9-5) by a score of 18-16. Drew Klosterman had a double and 3-run home run for Coldwater. Jordan Klosterman added a 3-run shot of his own. DJ Manning had 2 doubles and a triple for the Rough Riders.

Hicksville (8-7) topped Antwerp (3-11) 12-2. Justin Miller hit two singles, a home run and drove in three RBI while also picking up the win on the hill.

Liberty Center (4-10) topped Delta (6-10) by a score of 6-5. Arland Babcock hit two singles, a double and three RBI to lead the Tigers. Nico Arredondo led the Panthers with a pair of doubles.

Stryker beat Fayette 14-0.

Miller City (8-7) picked up a huge win against Liberty-Benton (12-4) by a score of 9-7. Miller City scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th. Jared Kerr had a triple and 3 RBI and Brent Niese had three singles for the Wildcats.

Allen East topped Delphos Jefferson 4-1.

Arlington beat Mohawn 8-3.

Carey shutout Crestline 10-0.

Upper Sandusky topped New Reigal 14-13.

Evergreen beat Swanton 8-1.

Fairbanks topped Waynesfield-Goshen 7-5.

Lima Central Catholic beat Spencerville 15-1.

Lima Perry beat Riverside 10-6.

Loudonville beat Mansfield Christian 10-3.

New Bremen topped St. Henry 4-2.

New Knoxville beat Anna 6-4.

North Baltimore beat Hardin Northern 10-7.

Paulding defeated Lincolnview 7-5.

USV topped Lima Temple Christian 13-5.

Bethel-Tate beat Mariemont 7-5.

Little Miami beat Waynesville 3-1.

Middletown beat Hamilton 6-4.

LaSalle beat Alter 1-0.

Greenville beat Versailles 8-0. 

Niles (14-5) beat Poland 1-0. Niles Jr. Ryan Ifft's walk-off RBI single with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th inning gave Niles Mckinley a 1-0 win over Poland. Red Dragons Jr. pitcher Jake Foster (5-0) threw 8 scoreless innings.  He allowed 7 hits with only one walk while striking out 8. His counterpart, Poland's Mark Passarello (Fr.) , was nearly as impressive.  He allowed just one run in 7 2/3 innings of work.  Passarello gave up 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7.

Northridge (14-3) falls to Worthington Christian 15-3.

Independence (12-4) improved its record with a 4-3 victory over Berkshire at Classic Park, home of the Cleveland Indians AA affiliate Lake County Captains. Sophomore pitcher Mike Martin pitched 6 innings, striking out 7 for the win. Junior Marcus Contipelli recorded the save, and Junior Cary Artrip delivered a key RBI double late in the game.
