No. 8 Malvern Prep 10,  Haverford School 1
Joe Ravert went six innings on the mound, striking out six and walking one to help No. 8 Malvern Prep move to 15-4.  Ravert also went 3-for-3 at the plate with a run and an RBI to lead the offense.  Nick Bateman also shined at the plate going 3-for-4 with 3 RBI.

Mechanicsburg 2,  No. 10 Hershey 1
One day after breaking in to the rankings, Hershey fell to Mechanicsburg (7-5) in a pitcher’s dual. Mechanicsburg jumped on Hershey starting pitcher Zach Dreyer for two first inning runs, but did not score again.  Hershey pushed across a run in the third inning to cut the lead in half, but John Thompson and Parker Beatty (7th) shut down the offense from that point for the win. Hershey’s loss was their first of the season leaving them with a record of 9-1.

Big Spring 2,  No. 5 Northern York 1
Big Spring disposed of No. 5 Northern York (8-3) in similar fashion. Big Spring scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and then held on in the seventh as Northern York scored one to cut the score in half.  Kody Richmond pitched a complete game three hitter for Big Spring (7-5).

No. 2 Bethel Park 4  Baldwin 0
Bethel Park continues to get good pitching and defense. Luc Cox pitched six strong innings yesterday to lead them to their fifth consecutive victory. BP is now 11-1 on the year.

Thomas Jefferson 5  West Mifflin 1
Greg Schneider broke the school record for strikeouts in a game by mowing down 18 West Mifflin batters.  Schneider also won his 13th game in a row. The Pitt commit scattered five base hits and helped Thomas Jefferson move to (8-3, 5-2) on the season.

Riverside 1  Ellwood City 0
Ellwood City (12-1, 6-1) tasted defeat for the first time in the 2012 season.  Riverside (9-4, 6-1) pitcher Blaise McCarty picked up the win.  The lone run of the game came in the fourth inning when Austin Hall scored on an error.
