DIVISION I/II TEAM RANKINGS

#1 Strongsville (5-0)
 beat North Royalton 6-3. Senior Kyle Toma pitched five innings with 10 strikeouts, three hits along with one unearned run. Senior John Sabolik had a diving catch in the sixth inning to save a possible triple and run. For North Royalton, junior catcher Adam Vasil went 2 for 3. 

#2 Mason (5-2) 

#3 Defiance (5-0) defeated Kenton by the score of 11-1 last night behind the pitching of Robbie Zeigler. Robbie improved to 2-0 on the hill going 6 innings, allowing 0 runs on 2 hits and 11 strikeouts. Leading hitters for the Bulldogs were Anthony Kidston – 2 doubles, Joe Gentile – 2 singles, Austin Hancock a single and double, and Robbie Zeigler a double. 

#4 Massillon Jackson (4-1) falls to #24 North Canton by a score of 14-2. The Vikings had 14 hits, 3 walks, and 2 HBP in the affair. Austin Appleby (Purdue football recruit) went 3 for 3 with a two-run homerun.

#5 Centerville (6-0) beat Beavercreek 4-0. Senior Ryan Colgate (ODU recruit) pitched a complete game shutout 4-0 with 4 strikeouts and 4 walks. Junior Sean Murphy went 2-3 with a single, double, and 1 RBI. Junior Derek Hendrixson went 1-1 with a HBP and 2 RBI.

#6 Grove City (6-0) 

#7 Elder (6-1) beat Warren Howland 12-1.

#8 Walsh Jesuit (5-1) beat Lake Catholic (2-4) by a score of 6-3. Cassidy Brown and Drew Miletti each hit their second homerun of the year. Michael Marsinek (Eastern Michigan recruit) picked up the win for Walsh Jesuit.

#9 St. Ignatius (3-1)

#10 Moeller (5-2) 

#11 Columbus DeSales (7-2) 

#12 Mentor (2-0) beat Elyria (0-1) by a score of 11-10.

#13 Sandusky (4-0)

#14 New Albany (6-0) picks up a 8-4 non-league win against Upper Arlington (8-4). New Albany's Wynston McMartin (Youngstown State recruit) showed rare power with a 3-run homerun in the first inning to lead the way for the Eagles.  

#15 Willoughby South (1-0) 

#16 Toledo Central Catholic (2-1) 

#17 Hudson (5-0) beat Twinsburg and Indiana recruit Scott Effross in a tight 3-2 ball game. Matt Jaskiewicz lined a one out single to centerfield to score two Twinsburg runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game. Jono Chafe came in relief of Nate Andrasik and pitched out of a bases loaded jam and pitched the 8th inning to pick up the win in relief for Hudson. Hudson scored the winning run in the bottom of the eight when Duncan Moran dropped a two out single to CF to chase home John Taylor from second base with the game winner. Scott Effross gave up 2 runs on 5 hits and had 7 strikeouts in 7 innings for Twinsburg and Nate Andrasik gave up two runs on 4 hits and had 3 strikeouts in 6 and 1/3 for Hudson. Neither pitcher figured in a decision.

#18 St. Xavier (3-2) 

#19 Norwalk (7-0) beat Shelby 11-1.

#20 Jonathan Alder (4-1) 

#21 Steubenville (3-1)

#22 Ashland (4-0) beat Mansfield 10-0 in 5 innings tonight to go to 5-0 with 4 straight shutouts. Adam Schaly (Stetson recruit) threw a 1 hit shutout with 14 strikeouts. Derek Ward went 3 for 3 and Steven Mowry hit a 3-run homerun.

#23 Anthony Wayne (3-1)

#24 Troy (7-1) beat Sidney 8-0.

#25 Brunswick (4-1) pulls of a tight 2-1 victory over Berea. Gerry Salisbury pitched a solid game for Brunswick, but didn't register a decision. 

#26 North Canton Hoover (4-0)

#27 Gahanna Lincoln (5-2) 

#28 Bowling Green (5-1)

#29 Canton South (5-1) beat Minerva (11-0). Logan Bowles (OSU recruit) was the winning pitcher. Sophomore DJ Wilson was 3 for 4 with a homerun. Damon Wade also went 3 for 4.

#30 Milford (6-1) loss to La Salle by a score of 13-5.

#31 Toledo St. Johns (1-2)

#32 Pickerington Central (4-2) 

#33 Findlay (5-1)

#34 Westerville Central (7-2) lost to Delaware Hayes (5-2) by a score of 3-1. Unsigned senior Tyler Miller was impressive in his return from 2011 Tommy John surgery. In the first three innings, he sat 84-87 mph with a 70-72 mph breaking ball and a 73-75 mph changeup. He pitched a complete game while allowing 4 hits and no earned runs. He walked 1 batter and struck out 4. It was a tight game until two misplayed bunts by Westerville Central in the bottom of the sixth inning.

#35 Anderson (5-0) 

#36 Lakota East (4-2) beat Princeton 12-4.

#37 Amherst Steele (3-2) 

#38 Glen Oak (4-1) beat Massillon Perry by a score of 15-6. Jake Flounders was the winning pitcher. 

#39 Olentangy Orange (5-0) 

#40 Perrysburg (1-1-2)

#41 Vandalia Butler (4-4) beat Greenville 19-1.

#42 Loveland (6-0) 

#43 Shaker Heights (3-1) beat Cleveland Heights 13-2.

#44 Fairfield (6-0) 

#45 Archbishop Hoban (5-2) beat Padua (2-4) by a score of 9-2. After knocking on the door many times, the Knights were finally able to have a multi-run inning in the 9th. Great pitching by both starting pitchers was the key to a very good baseball game. Unfortunately, the Bruins played a sloppy 9th and Hoban took advantage with timely hitting to put the game away. Sophomore Travis Pero picked up the win.

#46 St. Edwards (1-2)

#47 West Holmes (6-0) beat Wooster (0-5) by a score of 17-2. 

#48 Pickerington North (3-1) beat Meade County (KY). Junior Tyler Pagano pitched a no-hitter. Akron recruit Cale Giddings hit a RBI triple. Ryan Miller and Connor Jeffries each hit doubles.

#49 North Olmsted (5-0)

DIVISION III/IV TEAM RANKINGS

#1 Keystone (4-1) 

#2 Maderia (6-3) lost another tough game with a 4-2 loss to Homestead Fort Wayne (IN)

#3 CHCA (5-1) 

#4 Carlisle (8-1) lost to #21 Middletown Madison by a score 7-1. Senior Alex Leach went 2 for 3 in the loss. Junior Justin Fryman was 2 for 4 with a double.

#5 Defiance Tinora (7-0) just keeps piling on the runs as they beat Edon by a score of 11-1. Sophomore Reid Renollet threw a one hitter over 5 innings for the win. Sophomore Derek Drewes had two triples and a single. Sophomore Clay Pittman had a single and a double.

#6 Independence (6-1) beat Richmond Heights 19-0.

#7 Summit Country Day (7-0) beat New Miami 14-2. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Doug Compton picked up his second win of the season pitching a complete game while allowing 3 hits and striking out 8 batters. Gabe Scott (George Washington recruit), Tommy Crowl, and Compton all had multi-hit days at the plate.

#12 Triad (7-2) picked up another victory with an 11-0 finish over Northeastern. Senior Zach Propst had 3 RBI in the contest.

#13 Mariemont (1-1) lost to New Richmond (7-0).

#14 Wheelersburg (2-0)

#15 Hamilton Badin (3-4) continues their slide with an 11-4 loss to Covington Catholic.

#16 Archbold (4-1)

#17 Bloom Carroll (5-2) loses 6-3 to Columbus Bishop Watterson (3-4).

#18 Fairview (5-1) beats previously undefeated Wauseon (3-1) by a score of 3-0.

#19 Canton Central Catholic (3-1) 

#20 Ottawa-Glandorff (4-2) 

#21 Middletown Madison (5-0) beat #4 Carlisle with a convincing 7-1 victory.

#22 Patrick Henry (5-2) beat North Baltimore 7-3. Gabe Jones pitched a complete game and struck out 7 batters. Kyle Bergstedy went 3 for 4 at the plate with 2 doubles.

NON-RANKED TEAM SCORES

Tallmadge (3-2) defeated Lodi Cloverleaf (3-3) 12-2 in five innings in a Suburban League matchup. Senior Tucker Linder (2-0) went four innings for the win with six K's allowing 7 hits, two earned runs and walking one. Tallmadge had ten hits in the contest.  Cloverleaf had eight hits, including five infield hits. For Tallmadge, sophomore Chris Gray had a single, triple and an RBI, senior Matt Shomo had a double, single and 2 RBI's, junior Johnny Linn had a single, double and 2 RBI's, junior Scott Noel had 2 singles and 3 RBI's. Cloverleaf was lead by freshman shortstop Tyler Hissom who had two infield singles. 

Niles McKinley (6-2) beat Hubbard 3-1. Junior Jake Foster (3-0) struck out 11 and allowed only 2 hits and 1 walk in going the route as Niles scored single runs in the 5th, 6th & 7th to down Hubbard. Niles junior Ty Wiery knocked in the tieing run and teammates senior Pat Barrett, junior Ryan Ifft and sophomore James Tate all added 2 hits. Alex Greathouse had both hits for Hubbard and junior Robert Vargo was the losing pitcher going the distance.

Solon (3-1) took home a marathon 6-5 victory over Stow (2-3) on Wednesday at Solon Community Park. With Solon trailing by one, Jesse Keckler came to the plate and hit into a fielder's choice, scoring Bryce Littell. Jesse Circelli had a good game at the plate for Solon. Circelli went 3-5 and scored one run. Circelli doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the third and eleventh innings. Bryan Reginald had a strong game at the plate for Stow HS. Reginald went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. Reginald singled in the sixth and eighth innings. Aaron Epstein rose to the occasion out of the bullpen, hurling five innings of shutout ball while racking up four strikeouts and giving up six hits and no walks.

Lorain beat Warensville Heights 23-0 to improve their record to 3-0. Adrian Calez got his 2nd win going 3 innings facing 9 batters and striking out all 9 on only 33 pitches. 

Bellefontaine beat Springfield Shawnee by a score of 12-4.  

Canal Winchester picks up their first win tonight over Lancaster 7-3. Kevin Ilich doubled and had 2 RBI. Josh Miller picked up the W. Trevor Beerman credited with the save.

Indian Lake beat Urbana 2-0. Trevor Jacobs was the winning pitcher going 6 innings with 9 strikeouts. He was also 1-3 with a RBI. Tyler McCullough gets a save. 

Evergreen (5-2) beat Delta 9-6. Junior Kevin Denker threw 4 and 1/3 innings of 4-hit ball and had 3 RBI to lead the Vikings to a 9-6 win over Delta. Juniors Dylan Henricks and Kurtis Pierce each had 2 hits while senior Clayton Wielinski added a 2-run double. Senior Trenton Shindorf and juniors Matt Brighton and Kyle Kern-Blystone along with sophomore Jake Dowling all had a hit for the Vikings. Senior Ryan Callahan (University of Toledo signee) had a single and triple for the Panthers.

Lebanon beat Xenia 9-4. 

Northmont beat Huber Heights Wayne 11-1.

Fenwick (6-2) beat West Carrollton 7-5.

Holy Name (3-2) beat Cleveland Central Catholic 19-1.  

Kirtland (5-1) beat Harvey by a score of 9-2. 

Wapakoneta improves to 8-1 with a 4-0 victory in a pitching duel between Cory Wilder (Lima Shawnee) and Johnny Crawford (Wapakoneta).  Crawford (2-0) gets the complete game shutout, pitching  6 and 2/3 of no hit ball.  Crawford’s pitching line: 7 innings 0 ER 1 Hit 1 BB 5 K’s. Keaton Zweibel and Chace Culver had 2 key hits apiece for Wapak.

Olentangy Liberty beat Hilliard Darby 11-9.

Marysville (2-2) split two games yesterday on their spring trip. They picked up a 4-2 win against Boyd County (KY).  Freshman Aaron Mowery picked up the win. They lost 6-5 against Henry Clay (KY).

Athens (5-1) picked up a win against Fisher Catholic (2-3).

Utica (5-3) beat Fredericktown (4-2) by a convincing score of 13-4.  

Medina (2-1) is on their spring trip. They lost to Scott County (KY) 5-2 on Monday. Junior Cory Teachout pitched 5 and 2/3rds solid innings, giving up just 2 earned runs striking out 5. Senior Rutger Luebke's (Lake Erie recruit) triple was the only extra base hit for the Bees. On Tuesday, Medina beat Greenup County (KY) 6-3. Senior Brett Nau pitched a complete game while allowing 5 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 5 hitters. Junior second baseman Michael Faschian and catcher Rutger Luebke each singled to ignite a 3-run 7th inning. 

Warren Harding (4-0) beat Maple Heights 12-2. Derrick Brogdon stole four bases, and banged out two singles and a double to help fuel the Raiders' win. Alex Fitzgerald struck out eight batters and only walked one for the victory. He was also helped by Chuck Parks, who hit a triple and a single.

Tecumseh (7-1) picks up an important win 8-0 over Kenton Ridge (4-3). Senior right-hander J.T. Brubaker continues his dominance with a two-hit shut out that included 8 strikeouts. He also had 3 RBI in the win.

Fairborn beat Miamisburg last night in a convincing fashion with a 10-0 score. Junior Jaycen Newsome pitched a complete game while striking out 11 batters. He wasd 3 for 5 at the plate with 4 RBI.
