Arizona 2020 Rankings Updated

The PBR Arizona- Class of 2020 Player Rankings have been updated as of April 2nd, 2020.  We are sorry about the current season being cancelled, we were looking forward to seeing some more baseball this spring. We feel for the 2020 graduates out there that were still trying to make an impression on college coaches. The current Top players from the 2020 class have been highlighted and identified.  This group includes players from all over the state of Arizona that play across the different classifications of high school baseball. Over the last 4 months, PBR Arizona has used its valued staff, scouts, and past & current local coaches as resources to update and add to this list. In this update, the story was position players that made a huge jump in the Top-10. We plan to update and extend this list of players in the near future and once baseball in Arizona resumes. Let’s take a look at our 2020 State Player Rankings:

 Look out for a new Unsigned Senior event to be posted for June to catch players that may not have been able to be seen by coaches due to the virus situation. We would love to make one last update to this list and give seniors one last chance to be seen by coaches before they head off to college. 

New No. 1 overall

SS, Carson Tucker (Mountain Pointe), Texas commit & MLB draft prospect takes over the top spot in Arizona. Tucker sports a wiry frame at 6-foot-2, 170 pounds. He’s the younger brother of major leaguer, Cole Tucker. Carson has bat speed through the zone and uses his lower half well. The ball is starting to jump off his bat as he develops more strength and body control. In the field, he moves well laterally with ultra athleticism. His arm strength and speed are both improving with time. His projectability is really what sets him apart from the rest of the pack, makes it easy to give him the No.1 spot in this update.

Zabo climbs up the rankings

3B, Ryland Zaborowski (Basha), Grand Canyon commit could hear his name when the MLB draft comes this summer. He really spiked up our rankings from his performance at the Super 60 in Illinois this past February. He continued that jump by going 10-13 with 4 HRs & 3 2Bs in a stretch to begin the season before the season being suspended.  Zaborowski is a physical specimen at 6-foot-6, 215-pounds with good athleticism & flexibility for a player of that size, running a 7.05 60-yard dash from that frame. At the Super 60, you could have called him a sleeper until you really dove into the data analytics of the event. The bat speed was noticeable, staying through the ball and on plane per Blast Motion. Zabo also posted the highest average exit speed (98.26 mph), and was second in peak exit speed (105.46 mph). His floor is pretty high compared to other players as he doesn’t require much effort to put out so much force. His smooth nimble footwork and confident hands at 3B allowed for simple glove-to-hand ability, and his 93 mph arm across the diamond is more than enough to allow him to stick at the position moving forward. On top of all of this, he also posted the top visual screening scores per Vizual Edge. His size and tools make him an easy pick for the Top-2 players in the state.
