Cary Allen Burke: 2024 that stood out defensively during the infield portion. Works clean to both glove hand and backhand with fluid sinking of his hips to effortless transfers from a short arm. Really has good feel for his glove and reading spin off the ball to get into position to make plays. Worked really well up the middle without sacrificing tension in his body to make clean and accurate throws across the diamond in the low 80’s. At the plate, loses some initial power with throwing the hips and can get somewhat into a steep lunge at times but has good bat control and worked line drives up the middle and to opposite field gap. Has more power presently available to him and should be able to find a position at the next level with his glove alone. 

Brady Crenshaw: 2027 that is pretty long already at 5 foot 11 and 165 pounds. He has present athleticism and is someone that surely should continue to fill out his frame as he matures. Bat plays well from the left side with upper 80’s exit velocities that maintained a high percentage in terms of line drive rate. Ball really jumps off his bat and will start hitting more of those out as he grows. Has high upside on the mound where he showed true feel for differentiating pitch shapes with true clusters. FB worked mostly mid 70’s from the left side with decent asr and worked it well to his glove side. Off-speed will be where he makes the most jumps in the coming years and is someone to surely follow along with. 

Bryce Simpson: 5 foot 8 and 150 pound 2024 that offers some projection if he can add weight to his frame. Handled the bat well during the BP portion of the event with high shot fly balls that seem to jump off the bat with hard contact. Produced some lower 90 mph exit velo’s with getting a few out of a collegiate park. Has a really nice left-handed swing and just may need to work on his athleticism and going muscle to his frame that should surely help him continue to climb in power output. Offers quality trunk rotation that generates torque through the hitting zone. Locks out his front leg really well and turns over his hips for an efficient backswing. Primary 1st baseman that plays athletic defensively. 

Preston Sumner: 2027 left-handed bat that presents nice body and barrel control at the plate. Opens with his weight distributed on his back leg from a wide base stance. Easy lift toe tap gets his hips angled towards the pitcher, while doing a good job of not leaking energy and back leg tension that is already pre-set loaded. Would like to see him be able to let the ball travel more as can get out in front of himself at times, while displaying quick hands and fiery hips that should help his games continue to develop, especially as he faces harder throwing pitchers. Few upper 80 mph exit velocities with a line drive approach to the right center gap to pull side. Displayed smooth actions defensively at SS with low 80’s across the diamond. This is a player that still should continue to develop and one to watch as he plays for Collierville and will be streamlined into a really solid high school baseball program. 

Nicholas Cartaya: Best all-around catcher showing smooth receiving traits and feel for working underneath the baseball as he gains ground to second. Strong lower half with ability to be bouncy behind the dish. Clocked 1.85-1.95 pop time when throwing down to second base with clean accurate throws right on target. Presented an athletic swing in the box and worked some upper 80’s while mostly working up the middle. 2024 is looking for a home at the next level and if he can continue to show his defensive prowess, shouldn’t have an issue come this next year.
