Bay Port 14, Hartford Union 0

APPLETON, WI - Game three in Division 1 quarterfinal action was a lop-sided affair from the get go. Bay Port came out swinging against the Hartford Union Orioles. The Pirates put up nine runs in the first inning and never looked back, completing the 14-0 4 1/2 inning onslaught.

To list the blow by blow affairs of this one would take longer than the 69 minute contest itself. So instead, here's the top offensive performers who backed the pitching combination of Ryan Frieder and Hunter Kallin in the three hit shutout.

Colton Peterson - 3-for-4 with a triple and two singles, three runs scored, three RBI.

Drew Neuville - 3-for-4 with a home run and two singles, two RBI, two runs scored

Joey Baier - 2-for-4 with a double and a single, two runs scored and an RBI

Jake Heinzen - 3-for-3 with three singles, two runs scored and two RBI

The Pirates combined for 14 runs on 16 hits.

Bay Port will now take on the quarterfinal winner of Stevens Point and Kenosha Bradford in the last game of the night.

If the Pirates can keep swinging it like this they look as though they could be the favorite to win it all.
