Prep Baseball Report Kansas/Missouri held the Building Champions Scout Day on February 22 at The Yard XL in Olathe, KS.  Over sixty-five players participated in the 2022 to 2018 classes.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.

Here is a closer look at the outfielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Outfielders

Isaac Ammann OF / SS / Mill Valley, KS / 2020

Ammann is a 5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2020 class.  He ran a 7.10 60, a 4.58 home to first and has a 74 mph exit velocity. At the plate, stall set up with rocking motion in base for rhythm, efficient load, short stride, hands manage the barrel, range in swing with feel for the barrel, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, quick arm speed, fluid actions with footwork and transfer, 84 mph positional velocity.

Johnny Caime OF / St. Pius X, MO / 2022

Caime is a 5-foot-6 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2022 class.  He ran a 7.63 60 and a 5.25 home to first.  He has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in an athletic set up, slight hand load, in line stride, quick bat speed with level path, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, short over the top arm action, quick to ball taking good route through the catch, clean exchange with fluid footwork, 73 mph positional velocity.

Max Chapman LHP / OF / Grain Valley, MO / 2020

Chapman is an athletically built 5-foot-11 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2020 class.  He ran a 7.25 60, a 4.71 home to first and has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced and tall stance, pre-pitch rhythm in hands, gets foot down early and in line, lose and quick hands level path, gap to gap line drives, stays under control.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, fluid actions to the ball and through the catch, clean exchange with loose arm action, throws downhill, 88 mph positional velocity.

Tyler Cunningham OF / RHP / Blue Valley, KS / 2022

Cunningham is a 5-foot-9 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2022 class. He ran a 7.28 60, a 4.65 home to first and has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall set up with rhythm in hands, controlled leg kick while hands load, in line stride, aggressive hand speed, stays balanced in lower half, flashed pull side power, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, fluid footwork, take route behind the ball and through the catch, clean exchange, 80 mph positional velocity.

AJ Drew RHP / OF / Louisburg , KS / 2021

Drew is a lean 6-foot-1 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2021 class.  He ran a 7.40 60, a 4.82 home to first and has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, hands separate from stride, stays in line, level path through the hitting zone, gap to gap approach, stays under control. In the outfield, smooth footwork creating momentum through the catch, fluid transfer on time with footwork, over the top release with loose arm action, 85 mph positional velocity.

Tate Gillen OF / LHP / Blue Valley, KS / 2021

Gillen is a strong and athletic 6-foot-2 185-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2021 class, a Creighton commit.  He ran a 7.38 60, a 4.65 home to first and has a 77 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth weight shift to back side with rhythm in hands, quick bat speed, stays on ball after contact, flashes pull side power.  In the outfield, athletic actions, fluid footwork to the ball, creates momentum through and after the catch, high three quarters arm slot, arm works, 86 mph positional velocity.

Preston Giltner OF / 3B / Blue Valley, KS / 2021

Giltner is a 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2021 class.  He ran a 7.25 60, a 4.80 home to first and has an 81 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up,minimal load, no wasted movement, in line stride, level path through the call, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, fluid actions through the ball, clean exchange, 84 mph positional velocity.

Bryson Gooding LHP / OF / Raymore-Peculiar, MO / 2022

Gooding is a 6-foot-2 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2022 class.  He ran a 7.46 60, a 4.89 home to first and has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, quick tempo in toe tap to stride, showed range in swing and feel for barrel, quick hands, mostly middle to pull side line drives during hitting evals.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, smooth transfer and throw with fluid footwork, arm works, creates momentum with footwork, 81 mph positional velocity.

Will Hudler OF / 3B / Blue Valley West, KS / 2020

Hudler is a lean and long 6-foot-3 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2020 class.  He ran a 7.16 60, a 4.53 home to first and has a 91 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, quick load to back side, in line stride, fast hands with quick bat speed, power to the pull side, long levers with projection for strength.  In the outfield,  quick to the ball with footwork, clean transfer, high three quarters arm slot, small crow hop during transfer, plays through the ball, 86 mph positional velocity.

Nate Lemke OF / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2020

Lemke is a 6-foot 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2020 class.  He ran a 7.00 60, a 4.57 home to first and has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, weight shift load to back side, quiet hands, level path to contact, high one handed finish, stays balanced.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, gains ground after catch, works behind the ball, quick transfer and throw, 81 mph positional velocity.

Cooper Marsh OF / 1B / Mill Valley, KS / 2021

Marsh is a 5-foot-11 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2021 class.  He ran a 7.00 60, a 4.72 home to first and has a 75 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide set up, rocks against back side to load, lands slightly closed during stride, middle of the field approach.  In the outfield, short over the top arm slot, works behind the ball, gains ground with momentum after the catch, plays through the ball, positional velocity at 75 mph positional velocity.

 

Matt Miller OF / 2B / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2020

Miller is a 5-foot-11 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2020 class.  He ran a 7.15 60, a 4.50 home to first and has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, no wasted movement in weight shift load to back side, loose hands, high finish in hands, gap to gap approach, flashed power to pull side, hits with strong levers in lower half.  In the outfield, quick to the ball with footwork, quick transfer and throw, high three quarters arm slot, arm works, plays through the ball, 82 mph positional velocity.

Pawela is a 5-foot-11 160-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2021 class.  He ran a 7.29 60, a 4.76 home to first and has an 81 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, some pre-pitch rhythm in hands, minimal load, short in line stride, level path through the zone, stays under control, gap to gap line drives.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot with momentum through the catch, clean exchange, smooth actions, 82 mph positional velocity.

Brennan Perkins OF / RHP / Rockhurst , MO / 2020

Perkins is a 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2020 class.  He ran a 7.10 60, a 4.44 home to first and has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth pre-pitch rhythm, reverse toe tap to in line stride, loose hands, quick and level through the zone, middle of the field approach.  In the outfield, aggressive to the ball, quick transfer and throw, high three quarters arms lot, displayed arm strength with 86 mph positional velocity.

Ryan Picollo 3B / OF / Blue Valley North, KS / 2020

Picollo is a well built 6-foot-2 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2020 class.  He ran a 7.65 60, a 4.75 home to first and has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable swing mechanics, loads against back side, no wasted movement, short stride, hands work inside ball, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, quick catch and throw, footwork is quick to the ball with clean exchange, loose and easy arm action, 79 mph positional velocity.

Skyler Ray OF / LHP / Shawnee Mission South, KS / 2021

Ray is a 5-foot-9 155-pound switch-hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2021 class.  He ran a 7.18 60, a 4.69 home to first and has a 77 mph exit velocity. At the plate, similar swing from both sides, slightly more open from right side, weight shift in lower half to load, minimal hand movement, level path, gap to gap approach from right side with slight more pull from left.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, small crow hop after catch and during transfer, plays through the ball, clean transfer with fluid actions, 79 mph positional velocity.

Ben Shisler OF / 3B / Blue Valley North, KS / 2021

Shishler is a 5-foot-9 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2021 class.  He ran a 7.46 60, a 5.11 home to first and has a 74 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly open with some hand rhythm, minimal load, in line stride, controlled swing with level path, gap to gap approach, repeatable.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, clean transfer with fluid footwork, quick catch and throw, 74 mph positional velocity.

Luke Shull LHP / 1B / Bishop Miege, KS / 2021

Shull is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2021 class.  He ran a 7.87 60, a 5.21 home to first and has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a balanced set up, holds hands away from body with some pre pitch rhythm, efficient load, short stride, gap to gap approach, level path.  In the outfield, quick arm speed with over the top release, gain momentum after the catch, fluid footwork to the ball with clean exchange, 84 mph positional velocity.

Ike Summerlin OF / 1B / Blue Valley West, KS / 2020

Summerlin is a strong 6-foot-3 210-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas' 2020 class. He ran a 7.55 60, a 4.88 home to first and has an 86 mph exit velocity. At the plate, athletic stance with some pre-swing rhythm in hands, minimal load with no wasted movement, short stride, accelerates hands, quick bat speed, level path, pull side power, repeatable swing.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, creates momentum with footwork through the catch, quick transfer and throw, arm works, 76 mph positional velocity.

Andrew Williams LHP / OF / Rockhurst , MO / 2021

Williams is a 6-foot-1 185-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri's 2021 class.  He ran a 7.15 60, a 4.46 home to first and has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, loads against back side with weight shift, some hand load, in line stride, level path, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, 79 mph positional velocity, over the top arm slot, works behind and through the catch creating in line momentum, transfer and footwork works together, fluid actions.
