PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Ross II: Other schools I was considering in my decision was: Ottawa University, Cerritos College, Park University, and University of La Verne.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop?
Ross II: I first met Coach Solis when I was a sophomore at Arizona Total Baseball’s Winter Break Showcase Camp. In this pass summer their staff have saw me at Wilson Premier, Prep Baseball Reports 2019 Top Prospect Games. Going into my senior year, This pass fall they communicated interest after the Arizona Diamond Report’s Fall Showcase Workout and AZ Senior Fall Classic. Coach Solis and his staff later invited me out to visit the school.
PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
Ross II: I’m definitely relieved that the process is over! From worrying about getting offers from schools, then worrying about which school I was going to spend the next 2-4 years at was one of the toughest decisions I’ve made in my life. Now entering into my senior season it feels like fifty tons have been lifted off my shoulder.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
Ross II: Great opportunity to play for Coach Solis and his staff. After my visit and doing my research I felt like it was a fit. Academically I ll be able to get my general studies out of the way while playing in one of the best JUCO leagues in the nation
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Ross II: One major person in my life that helped me to get where I am  today is my Dad. From T-Ball to now, he has taught me mostly everything I know. Since he played baseball at one of the top high schools in California (Hanford High School) and playing in college (Arizona Western College and Grand Canyon University) I’ve trusted everything he has taught me, even if he sounded crazy sometimes. I want to thank him for being a great mentor, coach, and father.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
Ross II: My expectation about the recruiting process was me thinking that a lot of scouts needs to see me play in order for me to get an offer. To me the recruiting process was challenging because I’m always trying to put my best foot forward to maximize all opportunities to be seen. It actually made me a better player because I have to be committed.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
Ross II: They plan to use me at first base and maybe some outfield and are looking forward into my upside as I grow into my frame.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
Ross II: My most memorable baseball moment was in the last game, last at bat of my junior year I hit my first homerun. I’m usually a gap-to-gap line drive hitter, but it seemed like everything clicked all in that one swing. I still remember the smiles on my teammates faces as I made my way towards the dugout. That was a moment I will never forget.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
Ross II:  The best player I have competed against was Nick Sims, who pitched against me for GBG Northwest at the Wilson Premier Tournament in AZ. He had great pop on his fastball and could spot his pitches well. My first AB I got a line drive single to right. Next 2 AB's he mixed up his pitches well and had command the entire game.
