PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?

Quinones: First off, the reason why I chose New Mexico State was because the coaching staff is great very collaborative and the school is very successful in academics and offers for what I want to study for.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Quinones: The schools I was considering are South Mountain Community College, Glendale Community college, Vernon College, Midland University, Park University and Pima Community College.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop?

Quinones: The first time I’ve seen and met the coaching staff was a camp at New Mexico State and our relationship developed ever since the camp and been helping me along the way.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?

Quinones: Yes it does take a huge weight off my shoulders from choosing of what schools I have to choose and do my homework on them. Now I can just importantly focus on school and being on the field.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

Quinones: There had been many deciding factors of choosing NMSU which was it’s a D1 program getting better every year with wins, offering the academics I need to have for my future job I want have and lastly I have family out there supporting me through out my journey.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

Quinones: The most important person who has helped me and been there for me was my mother. She’s always been supportive hard working as a single mother and will always support me on my journey.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

Quinones: In my honest opinion I thought the recruiting process was going to be very difficult because you have a lot of other student athletes like me fighting for the same spot to be apart of the Aggies.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

Quinones: The plans that the coaching staff have in store for me is of course being part of the Aggie organization developing physically wise, getting stronger and coming in with a big left handed bat.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

Quinones: I think the best player I’ve played against was any player I played with. Every player I played with or against plays hard.
