Cabot Defeats North Little Rock in Extra Innings

Cabot traveled to North Little Rock and defeated them 6-4 in 10 innings. It was a hotly contested games with pitchers working out of jams consistently with runners in scoring position late in the game.

2017 RHP Logan Gilbertson and 2017 RHP Owen Stuckey both took a no decision. Gilbertson pitched into the 6^th and Stuckey pitched into the 5^th both allowed 4 runs, working out of jams and remaining calm with a somewhat floating strike zone throughout the game. 2017 RHP Reed Sheppard entered the game in 7^th and was sharp for Cabot as he picked up the win. He pitched 4 innings, allowing just 1 hit while striking out 5. 2018 RHP Tucker Sparks took the loss for North Little Rock, he competed in the strike zone with two pitches consistently.

Both rosters are deep with talented players that will compete at the collegiate level. 2018 INF Dillion Thomas had a big night for Cabot as he was 3 for 6 with 3 RBIs and a run scored. He had the big blow in the 10^th as he drove a single into left-field with the bases loaded to plate 2 runs. A player to keep an eye on is 2020 OF Clayton Gray he was 2 for 4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and a RBI. He had consistent loud contact in all of his at bats, with above athleticism.

Defensively 2017 OF Evan Hooper and 2017 MIF Blake McCutchen made game changing plays in centerfield and short stop, this will be key if the Panthers are going to remain in first place in the difficult 7A Central.
