Catholic High School Senior Commits In-State

By: Zac Bottoms
Arkansas Scouting Director

2016 MIF Joe Myers committed to Henderson State University on Tuesday. Myers was a staple in the middle of the Catholic High Rockets last spring and has been their starting short stop for the past three season. After a busy spring Myers played for Diamond Baseball Academy through the summer and participated in PBR’s Top Prospects Games as well as the PBR Unsigned Senior Games in August. Below you will find my write up from the Unsigned Senior Games.

Joe Myers, MIF, Catholic HS
Myers is a 6-foot-2 175-pound middle infielder with a large frame and an athletic build. He is an advanced feel for the barrel and attacks the baseball with fast bat speed that produces exit velocity up to 89 mph. He ran a 6.98 in the 60. Defensively he works through the ball with choppy foot work and soft hands. He has a fluid exchange and an accurate arm. Overall Myers is a well rounded player with fast bat speed.
