By: Zac Bottoms

The University of Central Arkansas picked up a commitment from 2017 RHP Logan Gilbertson. Gilbertson is a 6-foot-5 right-hander with a ton of upside. October 4th 2014 was PBR Arkansas first event, with the company launching in August of 2014. Logan Gilbertson was in attendance. He also attended PBR Arkansas Underclass Games in 2015, along with the All-State Games. Each time, showing slight improvement with more strength and better arm speed, always showing advanced pitchability. In the spring of 2016 he pitched well for Cabot High School, helping his team advance to the state tournament. This summer he attended PBR Arkansas Central Arkansas Open Showcase at Hendrix College, below you will find his report from there. Following that event he played for Arkansas Prospects, and had a solid summer showing better life on his fastball on a more consistent basis.

2017 RHP Logan Gilbertson, Cabot High School
Gilbertson is a 6-foot-5 190-pound right-hander with a projectable frame and an athletic build. He pitches from a H ¾ arm slot with a quick clean arm action. He does a sound job repeating his mechanics and rhythm. He uses a distinct balance point to allow him to drive to home plate, remaining balnced through out. His fastball works 83-85 mph with the ability to touch 88 mph. He has the ability to locate both his curveball (69-72 mph) and change up (72-75 mph). Overall Gilbertson is a projectable right-hander with a feel to pitch, he should throw harder as he continues to add strength.
